JFK AirTrain

Air Train JFK offers visitors to New York the fastest way to get to and from the main international airport, as well as being cheaper and considerably less stressful than taking a cab and negotiating the busy New York traffic. The line operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and 365 days a year, departing from the airport every 5 to 10 minutes and serving each of the 8 terminals. Passengers can expect to be in Midtown Manhattan within around 35 minutes by using the AirTrain JFK and the Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) to get to Penn Station.
The AirTrain JFK actually consists of three different lines:
- All Terminals Loop: This line makes a continuous loop around all of the airport's terminals, offering the most convenient way for arrivals to connect to ongoing flights.
- Howard Beach Route: In addition to looping through each of the terminals, this route also calls at Federal Circle and Lefferts Boulevard. The route terminates at Howard Beach Station, where visitors can then take the New York Subway line A to The Rockaways or Manhattan and Brooklyn.
- Jamaica Station Route: From the airport this line calls in at Federal Circle and then Jamaica Station where passengers can easily link to Brooklyn, Queens and the rest of Long Island, as well as Manhattan. Passengers are able to link to New York Subway lines E, J and Z, as well as the main LIRR branches. There are also several New York City buses which serve Jamaica Station and several Long Island Bus services stop on the opposite side of the road.
